Edvin Marton
Edvin Marton is a famous violin player from Hungary. His incredible talent was soon discovered by his parents - who were both musicians - and he was sent to the Conservatory in Moscow. He's playing on a violin built by the famous Antonio Stradivarius which he calls "Cunci" (the word has no special meaning). He also studied in Vienna, London, Budapest - and New York (at the Julliard School). As much as he loved - and still loves - classical pieces he soon started to find his own style, influenced by electronic (digital) music - trying to combine classical music with "cool" beats and electronic instruments. He's said to be a "great admirer of women"; many pieces on his first album are associated with the memory of a woman - but he never gives you a clear answer!

In the past I played classical music, jazz...etc. But I did not find my real personality, this was the reason why I’m now making my own music, which shows my feelings and my soul. ~ Edvin Marton

Why Magic Stradivarius?
"Magic Stradivarius" was the first piece of music I've ever heard of Edvin Marton and I immediately fell in love with it. It's on his first album "Strings'n'Beats", released in 2003. I liked the combination of words; not only is Edvin Marton playing on one of the world famous violins of Antonio Stradivarius, "magic" is the perfect word to describe his unique style of music and performance!
